Protection Review Awards – information for 2019
Your votes will help decide the shortlists for this year’s awards. You don’t need to vote in all categories, just those which are relevant to your knowledge and experience.
And for written entries you don’t need to wait to be shortlisted – you can submit written entries at any point before the deadline.

Specific Criteria for Awards
·    
The Young Achiever of the Year award is for anyone working in the manufacturing or distribution side of the industry (insurer, reinsurer, intermediary, adviser, paraplanner, tech firm, marketing etc) who is under 30 at the time of entry
·     When putting together a written entry please use ‘Two stars and a wish’ – Two things you or your company has done over the last year plus one thing you would like to do or improve. In previous years the ‘wish’ element of some entries has been very generic – please try to be specific where possible. 
·     Within the written entry you will also need to include an external testimonial. This can be a supporting comment from any external person or organisation such as an adviser, customer, journalist or partner organisation. Please note that testimonials are required for all written entries, must be sourced – and any entries without a testimonial will not be considered
·     Entries are 500 words maximum (written entries only – no supporting information or videos)
 
Two NEW Awards
·       Doing it Better Award:
We all try, and often succeed, to do things better for our customers, advisers, the wider industry and society as a whole year on year, but this award aims to recognise the company who has shown outstanding progress in these important areas. Our aim is to recognise the company that's getting it right, not only with their products and customer service, but with their commitment to diversity, corporate responsibility, culture, charity, local community and the health and well-being of their people. Entries that demonstrate a strong commitment in many or all of these areas will stand a good chance of winning. Written entry required.
 
·       Unsung Hero Award:
Our aim is to recognise those people making a real difference to consumers and advisers every day who aren’t in senior management, aren’t in the media or public eye, and aren’t well known in the industry. Entries that demonstrate a truly important role in the customer or adviser journey that is making a really positive difference will stand a good chance of winning. Written entry required.
 
Timescales
·     Voting opens and written entries invited – Wednesday 13th February
·    Voting closes and deadline for ALL written entries – 29th March
·     Judging day – 24th April 
There will be no extensions to these dates.
 
Voting guidelines
The companies and individuals you vote for should exemplify those from our industry who put the customer at the centre of their proposition and those who work hard to provide the best outcomes for the customer. 
The awards look to recognise those in the industry who consistently show that the client is the driving force behind everything they do, whether that is improving the customer experience, paying more claims, product innovation or more. We pride ourselves on the robustness of our voting process and aim to uphold the integrity at every step. 
Our judges this year are Roger Edwards, Kevin Carr and Jo Miller Peter Le Beau and Andy Couchman. As announced last year, some categories may also have additional guest judges.
They will decide the winners by considering your votes, written entries where appropriate, their industry knowledge and any other relevant information they pick up along the way. The aim is for the results to be as independent as possible – but the real test for us is not the process, but whether the best people win.
·     As part of the online vote, there is optional free space for additional comments if you would like to provide brief reasons for your vote, which is not compulsory.
·     All votes are anonymous and you do not need to vote in all categories.
·     Protection includes all long and short term health and protection individual and group products and solutions.
